Devotion to the Sacred Heart, personalism 

We often fail to realize how much our emotions are chocked or distorted in the rush and tumble of daily concerns. Devotion to the Sacred Heart has long served as a useful antidote and restoratative. First Dr. von Hildebrand makes a necessary defense of affectivity, so that the devotion to the Sacred Heart can be seen in its true light. He then follows this demonstration with an analysis of New Testament passages which illustrate this affectivity in the life of Christ himself. This forceful presentation makes it abundantly clear: properly understood, the devotion to the Sacred Heart is by no means merely sentimental.
