The learned author of the Life of Christ has drawn from his great store of scriptural and archeological knowledge in this life of the Mother of God. From the scant references in the Gospels to the Mother of Christ and from data collected during a long residence in Palestine the author has been able to present a vital and intimate biography.

Throughout the book displays a reverent devotion to Mary while it eschews any extravagance of sentimentality. For those called upon to preach on the feasts of the Blessed Mother it presents a wealth of thought solidly founded on the Church's Mariology and eminently applicable to the conduct of every-day life.

It is not just another life of Christ. It is in every sense a life of the Mother of Jesus in which Mary occupies that position which she held in the work of the Redemption. There are innumerable lives of the saints. Here is a life of the Queen of saints.
