Sister Mary Amatora, OSF, PhD, is a member of the Immaculate Heart of Mary province of the Sisters of St. Francis of the Perpetual Adoration, whose motherhouse is at Mount Alverno, Mishawaka, Indiana.

Past experience of Sister Mary Amatora included both teaching and administration at the elementary school, secondary school, and college levels. She received her doctorate in 1942. Since that time she has published more than fifty articles and research studies in the various psychological and educational journals, both secular and Catholic, besides numerous book reviews. She is Associate Editor of Education, one of the oldest and most widely-circulated magazines for teachers.

Speaking as well as writing has been part of Sister Mary Amatora's work. She has addressed various national, regional, state, and local associations and organizations, including psychological, educational, scientific, research, and religious groups. In the summer of 1951 she was guest-lecturer at the University of Detroit's special "Institute on Mental Hygiene."

Under various pseudonyms, several hundred other articles by Sister Mary Amatora have appeared in religious magazines and newspapers. She is an ardent promoter of total consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary and of Parish Perpetual Adoration. "Our Lady leads the soul directly to her Son in the Holy Eucharist," says Sister Mary Amatora.

At present Sister Mary Amatora is Research Professor of Psychology at St. Francis College, Fort Wayne, Indiana.
